*SUMMER BASEBALL* The 10U, 12U and 14U summer baseball teams will begin their practices on Monday, May 8 from 5:15pm-6:45pm. Jeremy Flickinger will be coaching the 10U team and Mr. Mike Granger will be coaching the 12U and 14U teams. There is no information at this time for the softball practices. We will let everyone know as soon as we can.
Our wonderful ladies in the cafeteria not only make delicious, healthy meals for our Waldron Spartans, they celebrate the kiddos as well! Look at the amazing displays in our kitchen & in the dining area. *FREE SPORTS PHYSICALS* Thank you to our Waldron Athletic Boosters for providing free sports physicals to our students on Wednesday, May 17 from 12:00-4:00pm at the school. This will be free to any Waldron student wanting to play a sport during the 2023-2024 school year. A physical form will need to be filled out prior to the student's appointment by their parent/guardian. The forms are located in the main office.
*TRANSPORTATION* The varsity softball and baseball teams will need to self-transport to their game at Camden tomorrow, Thursday, May 4. The coaches are working with the players to ensure everyone has a ride. Please contact coaches if you have any questions.
*DRILL* We had a scheduled hard lockdown drill today. The county sheriff said the staff and students did a great job with the drill. We are very proud of our students and staff.
*GAMES CANCELLED AND RESCHEDULED* The baseball and softball games scheduled for today have been cancelled. The games will be made up on Thursday. On Friday, there will be no baseball games but we will have a single game for softball at home starting at 4:30pm.
MS track meet has also been cancelled for today and rescheduled for Thursday at Pittsford starting at 4:30pm.
Yesterday Waldron Area Schools went into a hard lockdown. Here are the events leading up to the lockdown:
A student was in the office as a result of allegations of inappropriate behavior. While in the office area and in the presence of the discipline team, the student’s behavior escalated to a point where he became a danger to himself. The hard lockdown was initiated out of an abundance of caution. No other students were in the office and no other students were in danger.
Also, we understand that some parents/guardians did not receive the notice of the hard lockdown. We are working with the Hillsdale County 911 system to make sure that does not happen in the future.

*FIELD TRIP CANCELLED* Unfortunately, the 6th/8th grade field trip for this Friday to MIS has been cancelled. We apologize for the inconvenience.
*GRADUATION*
Graduation is May 21 at 2:00 pm. Senior families have ten seats, with any additional guests sitting behind families. Caps can be checked out with Kelli on or after Friday, May 12 and must be checked back in by Friday, May 19. They will not be released any earlier.
*TRIP*
The construction field trip will be leaving from the north entrance at 8am tomorrow. If possible, please bring $5 towards pizza for the ride home.
*CANCELLATIONS* Baseball and softball games for tonight have been cancelled. We're working on a reschedule date. Also, the MS track meet for this evening has been cancelled. There will be no practice for MS track and baseball; however, softball practice is at 3:00.
*SOFTBALL GAME CANCELLED* The softball game has been cancelled today. Also there is no softball practice.
*TESTING*
Tomorrow will be PSAT test make ups for 8th, 9th, and 10th grade Spartans that missed the original test days.
