Our 7th/8th grade skills for career opportunities course had their first presenter of the year today! Mr. Dennis McNett, fire chief of Wright-Waldron Fire and Ems, spoke to our Spartans about emergency personnel careers. Mr. McNett informed our Spartans how many hours or years of training is needed to become an EMT, firefighter and paramedic. He also shared the difference between paid and volunteer firefighters. Salaries were discussed and the passion to want to help others. Mr. McNett shared real life stories and showed off his gear. Gannon Willits, Spartan Senior, also spoke as he is a member of the fire department and going through the process to become a firefighter! Thank you, Mr. McNett!
