ASBESTOS IN THE SCHOOL

In compliance with the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA), the Waldron Area Schools is publishing this annual notice to all families of students of the school district.

All buildings of the Waldron Area Schools have been inspected by an independent, accredited asbestos inspector for the presence of asbestos containing building materials. A final report of the findings of these inspectors has been received by the Board of Education and has been filed with the Michigan Department of Public Health. A copy of this report is available in the Superintendent’s office for inspection by the public. Any person who wishes to inspect the report may do so by making an appointment with the Superintendent.

Waldron Area Schools is taking all reasonable steps to remove the building materials that may contain asbestos so that students and employees will not be in contact with this hazardous material.
