This past week I had the pleasure of writing a letter of recommendation for one of our senior students.  Within this letter I highlighted all the great qualities this student has worked on and developed over 4 years of high school.  These traits included being consistently positive, friendly, and confident, as well as great work habits and social skills.  Notice that I didn’t mention academic skills.  Although academics are important, the real foundation for life long success is the development of consistent work habits and relationship skills.  Especially relationship skills.  Teaching and modeling for students the necessary strategies to work together, control emotions, and ask appropriate questions are what we do.  For success now.  For success in life!
